People often ask: “how did you get into marketing for the design industry?” The answer is simple: I was born into a Chicago business family, so marketing is in my DNA. And, my family always used talented interior designers, including Nate Berkus, for our family homes. Thus, it was only natural to marry my passion for marketing with my appreciation for design.
In 2011, I had transitioned from being a freelance SEO for interior designers to starting my own marketing agency. It was our very first interior designer client that made me realize my natural affinity for supporting the design community. I connected with this interior designer’s values, appreciated her gorgeous professional photographs that made designing her website so delightful, admired the effect that her designs had on her clients’ lives, and very much wanted to support her in making the world a more beautiful place… one project at a time.
Once other interior designers discovered our successes on her account, our design roster began growing and I consciously decided to focus exclusively on serving the needs of the design industry.
In 2013, my design marketing agency, Client Expander, was born. And, it is exclusively devoted to the marketing needs of the design industry: interior designers, architects, manufacturers, and other industry partners.
